What are Essential Oils?

Essential Oils carry the physical healing properties of plants and flowers in a highly concentrated form. They are the essence and extract of the plant and can provide therapeutic benefits for the body, mind and spirit in very small amounts.
E.O.’s are used for medicinal purposes and rejuvenate the body at a deeper cellular level. They smell beautiful and are also used in many body care products and cosmetics. They are volatile liquids distilled from plants, seeds, flowers, fruit, twigs, bark, roots and leaves. They are derived from the whole plant and not isolated, allowing our cells and DNA to identify with their pure plant DNA. This helps the body to rebalance, restore and heal itself.
They can be inhaled and absorbed through the skin. The therapeutic effect is within seconds and one can feel an improved sense of physical and emotional well-being.
I hope you will experience their amazing benefits for yourself! This is just the beginning, I know you will fall in love with Essential Oils, enjoy!

How to apply oils

Direct application:
E.O.s can be applied directly on the skin either alone or diluted with a Carrier Oil (see below). When applying on the feet, a C.O. is not necessary. When applying to the rest of the body, it is best to dilute the E.O. with a C.O. The general rule is mix 1-2 drops of an E.O. with 5-6 drops of a C.O. in your palm or in a small bowl and use fingers/palms to apply onto the body.
Inhalation:
E.O.s can be inhaled for an immediate and effective relief of symptoms. Hold the E.O. bottle close to nose and breath in slowly or put 1-2 drops on a tissue or cloth and inhale.
Diffuser: When E.O.s are put into a diffuser, this can help filter the air and create a therapeutic healing effect on the body and the mind.
Bath: Put 5-10 drops of your favorite E.O. like lavender or eucalyptus into an Epsom Salt bath. This bath soothes sore muscles and helps to detox and rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit!
Epsom Salt Bath Recipe: 2 cups Epsom salt ½ cup baking soda 5-10 drops E.O. Relax for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!
Carrier Oils (C.O.’s) are often recommended to be applied in conjunction with an essential oil. These oils have therapeutic properties of their own and are made from plants, vegetables, nuts or seeds. Common COs are jojoba, St. John’s Wort, calendula, olive, avocado, almond, sesame, hazelnut, apricot kernel, evening primrose, and wheat germ. EOs are highly concentrated and can be too strong for the skin when used directly. Thus, COs help dilute the EOs and allow for application to a larger skin surface area. In many cases, the combination of also creates a greater therapeutic effect
