Contrary to popular belief, dairy is actually not good for the body. It is highly inflammatory and mucus forming. Dairy feeds pathogens in the body, like viruses, bacteria, fungus, and yeast. Eating dairy on a regular basis can weaken the immune system, and cause chronic health conditions.
For anyone who has allergies, asthma, frequent colds & flu, digestive issues, eczema, stress, anxiety, chronic fatigue, brain fog, migraines, hormonal issues, or acne, it may be wise to let go of dairy from your diet.
Most likely you will start feeling better and healing from some of these health issues pretty quickly.
If you are trying to transition off of dairy milk, plant-based milk is a wonderfully healthy alternative. There are plenty of options either homemade or store-bought – almond milk, oat milk, cashew milk, macadamia nut milk, hemp milk, and pea milk are a few.
We make a batch of fresh almond milk every week, and it takes about 5 minutes to make. It tastes so fresh and delicious. The kids love it with their cereal/oatmeal, and we also use it for cooking and baking.
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup raw almonds
4-5 cups pure water
Optional: vanilla essence or cinnamon
Directions:
– Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender for about 60 seconds.
– Strain with a nut milk bag. Store in mason jars in the fridge for 5-7 days.
– You can use other nuts like cashew and macadamia and follow the same instructions. Although, you won’t need to strain these milks.
